Who Can Apply? Eligibility Criteria
Make sure you meet the following criteria before applying:
1. Domicile
- All applicants must be local residents of Chhattisgarh.
2. Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 28 years
- Relaxation: A 5-year relaxation in the upper age limit is available for all candidates as per government norms. Additional age relaxations apply for candidates from SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), ex-servicemen, and other specified categories. The maximum age after all relaxations cannot exceed 45 years.
3. Educational Qualification
- Station Officer (Sub Inspector): B.Sc. or B.E. degree in Fire from a recognized university.
- Vehicle Driver / Driver cum Operator: 10+2 or equivalent and must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license.
- Fireman / Store Keeper / Mechanic: 10+2 or equivalent. For Mechanic, an ITI diploma in Diesel Mechanic trade is also required.
- Watchroom/Wireless Operator: 10+2 or equivalent. These posts are reserved for trained Home Guard personnel with 3 years of service.
4. Physical Standards
- Height (Male): 168 cm or more
- Height (Female): 153 cm or more
- Chest (Male only): 81 cm (un-expanded) to 86 cm (expanded). A minimum expansion of 5 cm is mandatory. (Relaxation available for ST candidates).
- Candidates must be medically fit, with no physical disabilities, knock-knees, or flat feet. Specific vision standards also apply.
The Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in multiple stages:
- Document Verification: Initial screening of applications.
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Candidates will be checked against the required physical standards.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- For Station Officer: 300 marks (Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, 100m & 1500m Race).
- For All Other Posts: 100 marks (100m Race, Long Jump, Shot Put, Beam).
- Written Examination: 100 marks.
- Bonus Marks: Up to 10 bonus marks are available for candidates with achievements in national-level sports, an NCC “C” certificate, or a heavy vehicle driving license (for specific posts).
